AK-47 used rotating bolt mechanism and Sturmgewehr used tilting block. Both of them used intermediate catridge. AK copied its long stroke piston system from M1 Garand. People must remember that Mihail Kalashnikov was gun DESIGNER not INVENTOR.

@shermanlee85856 My main concern with finnish AK clones is weight because they are made for machined parts instead of stamped parts like AKS, AK-74, M16, G36 and all other modern assault rifles.

@GeneralCalculus yea but althought that,its effective range is still a far cry from a ak,really hoping some one would redesign the ak ,similary in relation to the hk416 and m4,the aks a much better gun than m4,so all the more they should do that.

@shermanlee85856 Finnish RK95 and RK62 are "almost" like that. IE. They are basicly AK-47 but with more accurate sights and MUCH tighter tolerances.

@cigolone1 dude the stg was the first assault rifle ever made, the germans never designed anything that was easy to produce, even the stuff they make today is hard to mass produce, the germans prefer quality over quantity.i never said the ak47 was all german, but kalashnikov definitley got inspired off of it, sure its diffrent on the inside, but they look very similar, the ak47 definitley beats the stg44/mp43 (whateveryouwannacallit) in just about every way except in looks

АК-47 является надежным штурмовую винтовку и тот факт, наиболее современного боя, происходящих в или вокруг этих диапазонов не может быть больше истинной. Для современной боевой обстановке, она не выполнила большую угрозу, чем АК-47

@SuperMachinegunner no it wasn't the first assault rifle, but it was the first to be mass produced, second of all ak47 wasn't developed after it in mechanical point of view, but it was definitely inspired on the outside. The internal ak47 design is too simple to be of German origin. Just look at ANY other German weapon at that time and say its simple and easy to produce. WHY THE HELL didn't the Germans design it like ak47 if its all German!? Makes no sense...

@cigolone1 find a stg44 probably the rarest assault rifle in the world. and study its parts and see it the same thing only the ak is FAR improved.
